Nitrosend vs Brevo.

Built for email, agent-native, unlimited contacts, and a published price at scale.

TL;DR

Brevo is a multichannel customer platform. Email, SMS, WhatsApp, web and mobile push, live chat, a sales CRM, and a loyalty program sit on one contact record and one bill, priced on the emails you send rather than the contacts you hold. If you use more than the email half of that, the bundle is the argument, and it's a good one.

Nitrosend specializes in email. What it adds is the operating surface: every capability is an API endpoint and an MCP tool before it's a screen, contacts are unlimited on every plan including Free, and BYO sending keys on Pro and above keep the transport where you want it while the platform above it changes. Brevo has shipped a real MCP server of its own. That surface follows the product it was built for. The question isn't whether Brevo has an agent surface. It's whether your agents need to reach past the campaign into billing, approvals, and send tests.

Buyers weighing Brevo's bundle usually price the other contact-metered platforms alongside it, so the Campaign Monitor comparison, the Constant Contact comparison, and the Courier comparison cover the rest of that shortlist, the last one for teams whose sending is product notifications rather than campaigns.

Pricing math

What you actually pay.

Both published ladders, monthly billing, in USD, before Brevo's 10% annual discount. Brevo prices on emails sent rather than contacts held, and the price rises with volume inside each plan, so read the right-hand column as the entry price for that rung rather than the price at your volume.

Migration

How to switch (or run both).

Brevo keeps sending while you move, and if you use its SMS, WhatsApp, or sales CRM, those stay exactly where they are.

  1. Add and verify your sending domain in Nitrosend. DKIM and SPF records sit alongside Brevo's, so both platforms can send from the same domain for as long as the overlap lasts.
  2. Export your contacts from Brevo and import them with nitro_import_contacts. The export carries more than addresses: you pick which attributes travel, list membership comes with them, marketing consent for email and SMS is a separate switch, and the file can be scoped to openers, clickers, unsubscribes, or bounces. Brevo attributes map onto custom fields and Brevo lists map onto lists, so the shape survives the trip.
  3. Start with one low-stakes message type: a receipt or a password reset, sent with nitro_send_message. Watch it for a week before a campaign follows it.
  4. Rebuild automations as flows with nitro_compose_flow. The triggers have equivalents on both sides: contact added, attribute changed, and event fired.
  5. Decide what carries your reputation. BYO sending keys on Pro and above route mail through Amazon SES, Resend, Postmark, Mailgun, or SendGrid, and Brevo's own pool isn't one of them, so a sender leaving Brevo's shared pool is warming a new path whichever platform it lands on. What travels with you is the domain and its authentication history, and BYO is why that only has to happen once.
Honest credit

What Brevo does well.

Picking a tool is about fit. Here's what Brevo is genuinely good at.

  • Transactional email on every plan including Free, with an SMTP relay, a REST email API, outbound webhooks, and unlimited log retention.
  • A free tier a real sender can live on: 300 emails a day, forever, no card.
  • Multichannel on one contact record: SMS, WhatsApp, web and mobile push, live chat, and a chatbot, all on the same bill.
  • A sales CRM with deals, pipelines, companies, and tasks against the same contact record, which removes a second vendor for a small team.
  • A lifecycle that spans channels is one product at Brevo and several vendors almost anywhere else.
  • Deliverability specialist support is a listed plan feature rather than a favor, with three hours a year included.
  • A real MCP server covering 27 modules, from contacts, lists, segments, and attributes, through campaigns and templates, to senders, domains, webhooks, and account settings.
  • Brevo's MCP server writes as well as it reads, and contact import and export is a module of its own, so an agent can drive a migration out of Brevo as easily as into it.
What Nitrosend adds

Where we think we're better.

  • Unlimited contacts on every plan, including Free, so a list that grows without being mailed never moves the bill.
  • A published price from 500,000 to over 4,000,000 emails a month, where the ladder usually turns into a sales call.
  • One product, sender-side, with no CRM, loyalty engine, or chatbot competing for the same roadmap.
  • MCP-first is an architecture, not an integration: every capability at Nitrosend is an API endpoint and an MCP tool before it's a screen.
  • Brevo's MCP covers the modules its API already publishes, so the agent surface there follows the product rather than defining it.
  • The difference shows up past the campaign itself, in the operations an agent has to run around a send.
  • Billing, approvals, send tests, and deliverability checks are the operations that usually stop an automation dead, and none of them appears anywhere on Brevo's published module list.
  • BYO sending keys on Pro and above route your mail through your own transport account, on the domain and IP you already warmed.
  • BYO makes the move reversible, and switching platforms otherwise means switching sending reputation on the same day, when the two failures look identical.
Use case fit

When to pick which.

Pick Brevo if

You send on more than one channel and want SMS, WhatsApp, or push against the same contact record and the same bill. A sales CRM sitting in the tool that already holds your contacts points the same way. So does being small enough that 300 emails a day, free and forever, is the whole requirement. None of those are close calls, and if one of them describes you, stay where you are.

Pick Nitrosend if

Email is the channel your program runs on and you'd rather have one product than seven. It's the right call too when your list is much larger than your send volume and you're tired of paying for addresses you don't mail, or when you want the platform to answer to an agent end to end, including the billing, testing, and approval steps that usually send someone back to a dashboard.

FAQ

Brevo vs Nitrosend - common questions.

Can Nitrosend replace Brevo?

For the email half, yes. Campaigns, flows, segments, templates, contacts, and transactional sending are all here, and transactional isn't a separate product with a separate bill. Brevo keeps the channels it was built for, so a team running SMS, WhatsApp, push, live chat, or the sales CRM either keeps Brevo for those or splits the stack deliberately.

Is Nitrosend cheaper than Brevo?

It depends which end of the ladder you're on. At the entry rungs they're close: Brevo's Starter opens at $9 from 5,000 emails a month, and ours is $20 Pro for 20,000. The gap opens higher up, where Brevo's published Professional rung is $499 from 150,000 emails a month and ours is $100 for 125,000, or $300 for anything from 500,000 to over 4 million.

Brevo has an MCP server too. What's actually different?

What happens when an agent reaches an edge. Every capability at Nitrosend is an endpoint and an MCP tool before it's a screen, so checking a send, approving a campaign, or reading the bill runs in the same session that wrote the campaign. Brevo's server is broad and it writes as well as it reads, so the campaign lifecycle is well covered there. It's the operational steps around a send that hand the job back to a person at a dashboard.

Can I keep sending through Brevo while I move?

During the overlap, yes. What it takes is DNS: Nitrosend's DKIM record added alongside Brevo's, and both senders included in the one SPF record on your sending domain. After that you move one message type at a time and leave the rest where it is. The route that doesn't exist is sending through Brevo's own pool from Nitrosend, because BYO keys point at a transport account of your own, like Amazon SES or Postmark, rather than at another platform's shared pool.
