Priced on sends, unlimited contacts, agent-native throughout, and your own transport.
Mail Blaze is a Cape Town email marketing platform that has been running since 2006, and it sells on human support and rand pricing. Every feature is on every plan, there's a person on the phone at any package size, and campaigns and transactional email share one bill. The price is banded on the size of your list, with a send allowance attached to each band. If that's the shape of your program, it's a straightforward buy.
Nitrosend is an AI-native email platform priced on sends, with contacts unlimited on every plan including Free. The difference is what an agent can reach: one command runs the whole stack, flows included, and BYO sending keys on Pro and above keep the transport where you want it. A workflow that only exists as a screen is one no agent can drive, whoever publishes a REST endpoint beside it. Mail Blaze's API reaches contacts, campaigns, templates, transactional sends, and reporting. The automations sit outside it.
Both products keep campaigns and transactional email on one bill, and ours exposes the whole of it through a single email API rather than an endpoint per object. The two products aren't priced on the same thing. Mail Blaze bands its price on contacts held, with a send allowance of twelve times each band's ceiling, and we price on sends with contacts unlimited. So every row below names both a list size and a monthly volume, and you want the row closest to both.

Mail Blaze keeps sending while you move, there's no lock-in contract, and the one thing that can be stranded is unused pay-as-you-go credit, which expires twelve months from purchase.
nitro_import_contacts, and custom fields land on custom fields.nitro_send_message, watched for a week before a campaign follows it.nitro_compose_flow. This step is a read-and-rebuild rather than an export: Mail Blaze automations are built in the dashboard and have no documented API surface, so there's nothing to pull out and no file to hand over. Budget real time for it, screenshot every branch before you cancel, and rebuild the two or three flows that carry revenue before you touch the rest. Here's what Mail Blaze is genuinely good at.
You want to be billed in rands by a team in your own time zone, and you'd rather have a person on the phone seven days a week than a ticket number. The pricing suits a small list that sends heavily, because a band covering 5,000 contacts carries 60,000 sends with it. It also suits an automation you build once and leave alone, or a handful of campaigns a year on pay-as-you-go credits.
Your list is much larger than your send volume and you're tired of paying for addresses you don't mail. You want the platform to answer to an agent end to end, flows included, rather than up to the point the dashboard takes over. You want your own transport underneath a platform that can change, because BYO sending keys on Pro and above make the move reversible.
Teams weighing contact-banded pricing usually read the Mailchimp comparison and the Mailercloud writeup beside this one, and the MailerLite subscriber-priced breakdown if a built-in site builder is part of the requirement. The full provider comparison index lists the rest.
For the email program, yes. Campaigns, flows, segments, templates, contacts, and transactional sending are all here, and transactional isn't a separate product with a separate bill. What we don't replace is the local half: rand billing and a Cape Town support desk that answers the phone at any package size. If those are the reasons you bought Mail Blaze, they're real reasons to stay.
It depends which end of the ladder you're on, because the two are priced on different things: Mail Blaze bands on contacts held, and we price on sends with contacts unlimited. At 5,000 contacts it's $20 against $43. At 10,000 contacts and heavy sending it's $100 against $63, a rung Mail Blaze wins. At 100,000 contacts it's $300 against $397.
Mail Blaze publishes a REST API, authenticated with a public key in a header, covering lists, subscribers, segments, templates, campaigns, transactional sends, and reporting, with an interactive request explorer. Automations aren't in it, so the workflows that decide when mail goes out stay in the dashboard. Nitrosend's MCP surface reaches the automation layer too, so an agent can build and change a flow rather than hand it back to a dashboard.
On the domain, yes. Both platforms can authenticate against the same sending domain, so you can move one message type at a time and leave the rest where they are. On the transport, no. BYO sending keys cover Amazon SES, Resend, Postmark, Mailgun, and SendGrid, and Mail Blaze's own pool isn't one of them, so the pool you leave is a pool you stop using.
