Marketing is expensive because most agencies still do the mechanical half by hand, and a retainer bills for those hours. I kick off several big tasks in parallel first thing each morning. "Each one would have been a few days work pre AI." That is what I rank for below. The metro counts, so Blue Bell, Chesterbrook, Ardmore and King of Prussia firms are here. If you also need a lifecycle email specialist, I ranked those separately in the best email marketing agencies in Philadelphia.
1. Seer Interactive
1Seer Interactive
Wil Reynolds, Chief Executive Officer, Seer Interactive
- Best for
- SEO, paid media and analytics with in-house AI
- Location
- Remote-first, with 52 staff located in Philadelphia on LinkedIn; no street address published
- Platforms
- Google Premier Partner
- AI stack
- AI Interview System (in-house), Persona Page Builder (in-house), Analytics AI-Assistant (in-house), SCAI (in-house)
The deepest in-house AI program in the city. Seer's AI page says a team of 15 people works on innovation and AI builds, and has built AI products and workflows since 2023, including an AI Interview System whose agents research a client's site and interview experts before people write, and an assistant that answers questions against a client's Google Analytics data in BigQuery. For an unnamed Fortune 50 company, its SCAI model cut drafting a 1,000-word article from 4 hours to 2, and outline-to-draft handoff from 90 minutes to 30.
Outside AI, three A/B tests lifted conversions on Trex's cost calculator by an average of 50 percent. Seer prints no street address and calls itself remote-first, so it ranks on 52 staff located in Philadelphia on LinkedIn, among them CEO Wil Reynolds. It also publishes pay, $105,000 to $125,000 for a senior paid social lead.
The pick for search, paid media and analytics from a team that builds and publishes its own AI tooling.
2. O3
2O3
Mike Gadsby, Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer, O3
- Best for
- AI tools and digital products
- Location
- 1339 Frankford Ave, Suite 3, Philadelphia, PA 19125 (Fishtown)
- AI stack
- Signal (O3XO lead generation)
A product and AI consultancy, not a campaign shop; its AI arm trades as O3XO. Signal scans for buying triggers and hands a sales team a ranked list of high-confidence prospects every morning. Buffalo Construction went from "where do we start?" to AI across its project lifecycle in under six months; the revenue multiple there is O3's own, with no method. For e-Hazard, an AI program for student certificates cut hours spent per week by 70 percent.
The best proof is internal: O3 replaced a $35,000-a-year resource planning tool with software built from $127 in AI credits in 40 hours. My view is that you can now build a SaaS tool with Claude in an evening without writing a spec first. Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer Mike Gadsby is one of 15 staff in Philadelphia on LinkedIn, at the Fishtown office on Frankford Avenue.
Hire it to build AI tools and products, not to run campaigns.
3. Gen3 Marketing
3Gen3 Marketing
Nicholas D'Amico, Senior Vice President of Business Development, Gen3 Marketing
- Best for
- Affiliate and partnership marketing
- Location
- 960B Harvest Drive, Suite 210, Blue Bell, PA 19422, with offices in Plymouth (UK) and Montreal
- Platforms
- Awin
- AI stack
- Envolve virtual shopping assistant (partner technology)
The affiliate specialist, and the AI in its cases is partner technology it deploys, not tooling it built. For Red Equipment, Gen3 switched on Envolve's AI virtual shopping assistant through Awin's one-click plugin, and engagement rose 70 percent with a 9 percent conversion rate across more than 21,000 engaged users. An affiliate campaign for an unnamed nutrition brand used AI-driven targeting across millions of consumer profiles and returned 5x ROAS and 2,000 new customers.
Its awards page lists a Best Use of AI nomination with ProLon, a shortlist rather than a win, and a place in Hello Partner's Top 30 Affiliate Agencies. The headquarters is at 960B Harvest Drive in Blue Bell, with offices in Plymouth, UK, and Montreal, and 13 LinkedIn staff are located in Philadelphia, among them Senior Vice President of Business Development Nicholas D'Amico and Director of Affiliate Marketing Michele Behe.
The pick for affiliate and partnership programs; treat its AI as partner technology.
4. SMB Team
4SMB Team
Lynne Suloman, Director of Fractional Services, SMB Team
- Best for
- Law-firm marketing and AI operations
- Location
- No office address published; 15 staff located in Philadelphia on LinkedIn
- Platforms
- Google Partner
- AI stack
- AIOS (AI agents for law firms)
Law firms only, with AI sold as operations. At Griffith Law Office, one AI email workflow gives back about 2.5 hours a week, 30 minutes of daily admin now runs without the firm's staff, and more than 45 law-firm AI skills were built before day one. It sells AIOS, AI agents and fractional CTOs for law firms, and IntakeOS, training, automation and management for converting law-firm leads. My view is that AI agents are already better at email than people, because they read everything and never miss a follow-up, which is the job intake automation is sold to do.
The time saved is an operations result, not a marketing one. It prints no office address, so it ranks on 15 staff located in Philadelphia on LinkedIn, including Director of Fractional Services Lynne Suloman. It fits law firms above about $500k in revenue.
The pick for a law firm that wants its marketing and its AI operations from one vendor.
5. Greenlane
5Greenlane
Bill Sebald, Founder / Partner, Greenlane
- Best for
- Search, marketplace and paid media
- Location
- 851 Duportail Road, 2nd Floor, Chesterbrook, PA 19087
- Platforms
- Google Partner
- AI stack
- Pacvue Campaign AI, Prompt-engineered feed rewriting
Measured AI inside the product feed and the bidding. For an unnamed animal-health retailer, Greenlane rewrote more than 4,500 Google Shopping product descriptions with batched, prompt-engineered AI, and impressions rose 52 percent and Shopping clicks 50 percent. On a Sam's Club marketplace account, it used Pacvue's Campaign AI to adjust bids against ROAS goals, and ROAS rose 82 percent with ad-attributed sales up 51 percent. At Bluethumb we assumed the platforms were "lying" about ROAS and halved the reported figures, so I weigh the feed result above the bidding one.
It also sells an AI Brand Perception Analysis of how language models describe a brand, which is visibility work, not automation. The office is at 851 Duportail Road in Chesterbrook, and 9 LinkedIn staff in Greater Philadelphia include founder Bill Sebald and Managing Partner Keith Urban.
Take it for search and marketplace ads where AI does feed and bid work you can measure.
6. Tempest
6Tempest
Alex Heimann, Chief Executive Officer, Tempest
- Best for
- Destination marketing organizations
- Location
- 30 S. 15th St., Philadelphia, PA
- AI stack
- AI-enhanced site search, Behavior-based content re-ranking
Tourism only, with AI built into destination websites. Its AI page says its CMS re-ranks listings and events based on real user behavior, and that it works with Spark by PCMA to supply verified, DMO-approved content to AI answers for meeting planners. For Visit Detroit it built an AI-enhanced site search that returns pages, listings and events in real time.
The published result is visibility rather than automation: Discover Lancaster's site drew 2.8 million visitors and 5.3 million pageviews after its relaunch and earned more than 660 AI Overview citations. No case ties the AI features themselves to a number. Tempest works from 30 S. 15th Street, and 18 LinkedIn staff are located in Philadelphia, including CEO Alex Heimann and Chief Operating Officer Angela Val. Hire it if you run a visitor bureau or a destination marketing organization; almost every client it shows is one.
The pick for a visitor bureau or destination marketing organization.
7. Gregory
7Gregory
Caitlyn Kardish, Executive Vice President, Gregory
- Best for
- PR with AI-search visibility
- Location
- 27 West Athens Ave, Ardmore, PA 19003, with offices in Boston and New York
- AI stack
- CrisisCalm (in-house), Gregory Influence Engine, AI Tell Detector
A PR firm with written AI rules. It runs CrisisCalm, a proprietary AI crisis communications tool, and its Influence Engine tests a brand against ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot, then targets the gaps with content, which is GEO. Its AI policy opts out of ChatGPT training on its prompts and runs machine-generated copy through anti-plagiarism software, and a free AI Tell Detector flags AI-writing patterns and AP Style issues. When I spot AI copy tells like "an honestly?", I rewrite them in my own tone of voice, so a detector helps.
It keeps Boston and New York offices; its headquarters is 27 West Athens Avenue in Ardmore, and 30 LinkedIn staff are in Philadelphia, including Executive Vice President Caitlyn Kardish.
The pick for PR and thought leadership where AI-answer visibility is tracked.
8. Finch Brands
8Finch Brands
Bill Gullan, President, Finch Brands
- Best for
- Brand strategy and research
- Location
- 123 S. Broad Street, Suite 2150, Philadelphia, PA 19109
- AI stack
- Charlie (in-house knowledge platform)
A brand consultancy with its own AI research tool. Charlie, Finch's AI knowledge-management platform, unifies a client's research and generates need states, jobs to be done and white-space assessments, so the AI works on top of research Finch runs rather than replacing the fieldwork. The strongest number on its site is not Charlie's: Boston Beer's internal analysis found that Finch's insights community saved over $800k in six months against a similar volume of ad hoc studies. Gap Inc. runs an on-demand insights community with Finch across its brands.
Hire it for brand strategy, research communities and M&A branding, not for media buying or performance marketing, which it does not sell. Finch works from 123 S. Broad Street, Suite 2150, and 24 LinkedIn staff are located in Philadelphia, including President Bill Gullan and Chief Operating and Experience Officer Lauren Collier.
Hire it for brand strategy and research, not for media.
9. Think It First
9Think It First
Joe Lashinger, Partner, Think It First
- Best for
- B2B websites with AI assistants
- Location
- Ardmore, PA; the team works remotely
- AI stack
- Claude, OpenAI, Copilot, Voyage AI, LangChain, Pinecone, Algolia, n8n / Make
A B2B web studio that builds AI on a client's own documents. It builds RAG-powered assistants trained on a client's data, AI-enhanced search and analytics dashboards, and names its stack: Claude, OpenAI, Copilot, Voyage AI, LangChain, Pinecone, Algolia and n8n or Make. Its blog says it has shipped retrieval-augmented chatbots, AI copilots, lead classifiers and personalization systems for B2B organizations, though no build is tied to a named client or a number.
It is the only ranked firm that prints an hourly rate, $150 an hour blended across strategy, design and development for change orders. The team works remotely, with 8 staff in Greater Philadelphia on LinkedIn, including Partner Joe Lashinger and Partner and Creative Director Bradley Emmons.
Take it for a B2B website that also needs an AI assistant built on your own content.
10. 215 Marketing
10215 Marketing
Garrett Gillin, Founder / Principal, 215 Marketing
- Best for
- Lead generation, HubSpot and paid media
- Location
- 1516 N 5th St #309 (Billy Penn Studios), Philadelphia, PA 19122
- Platforms
- HubSpot Platinum Partner, Google Partner, Microsoft Partner, Meta Business Partner
Custom AI tools with a written review rule. It builds content and copy engines in a client's voice with human review, data parsing and enrichment tools, and internal knowledge assistants, and its AI information page says every AI-assisted deliverable is reviewed by the strategist who owns the account, beside its HubSpot Platinum, Google, Microsoft and Meta partnerships. No case study ties the tools to a result.
Its case-study grid shows the same tour-bookings result on cards for two different clients. Performance programs require at least $1,000 a month in media. Founder and Principal Garrett Gillin is one of 9 staff in Philadelphia on LinkedIn, at 1516 N 5th Street in Billy Penn Studios. It suits a local or mid-size business that wants lead generation on HubSpot.
A local lead-generation partner that adds custom AI tools with human review.
11. Eastern Standard
11Eastern Standard
Mark Gisi, Founding Partner, Chief Brand Officer, Eastern Standard
- Best for
- Websites plus AI agents
- Location
- 1315 Walnut St, Suite 300, Philadelphia, PA 19107
- AI stack
- Claude, Claude Code, In-house AI search tool
The only firm here naming Claude Code in its delivery. It builds custom AI agents and uses Claude Code to build and maintain the integrations that connect a client's CRM, content platforms and data warehouse; the same page describes agents that monitor campaigns, draft follow-ups and adjust spend, handed over with human review checkpoints. My view is that Claude can already tag contacts, create segments and build flows through prompting alone, so this is the right build. For SEO, its own AI search tool finds gaps in a client's content.
It is a branding and web agency first; its work page lists Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and CAL Automotive; no AI build is tied to a named client. Founding Partner and Chief Brand Officer Mark Gisi is one of 7 staff in Philadelphia on LinkedIn, at 1315 Walnut Street, Suite 300.
Take it for a website rebuild that adds an AI agent wired into your own systems.
12. Arc Intermedia
12Arc Intermedia
David Sonn, President & Founder, Arc Intermedia
- Best for
- Full-service digital with private AI copy tools
- Location
- 840 First Ave., King of Prussia, PA 19406
- AI stack
- Client-specific AI content tools, Custom GPTs
A full-service agency that builds private AI copy tools. It trains client-specific AI content tools on a curated library of approved brand material so every output stays on brand, and sells custom GPT development, business AI agent development and AI-enhanced sales automation. Its internal automation turns scraped web pages into editable branded documents and saves more than 20 hours a month.
The client results are for unnamed clients, such as a financial institution whose organic traffic rose 233 percent year over year. With no single specialism, it suits a mid-size organization that wants one agency for web, search and ads. President and Founder David Sonn is one of 6 LinkedIn staff in Greater Philadelphia, at 840 First Avenue in King of Prussia.
A full-service option for a mid-size organization that wants a private, brand-trained AI copy tool.
Also worth knowing
These Philadelphia firms were considered and not ranked.
Marketri has a VP of AI and agents built on Claude, and one staff member in Greater Philadelphia. GlowRadius describes its AI go-to-market agents in detail, with a Bengaluru team and no Greater Philadelphia staff. Foundation has its team in Canada and no local staff. WebFX has 7 of its more than 750 staff in Philadelphia. 1Digital was born in Philadelphia and is now headquartered in Miami, with no office stated here. AdVenture is based in Woodmere, New York, Mindgrub in Baltimore and Thrive in Arlington, Texas, and none has local staff. Revcarto has one local staff member and an AI SDR that is a blog post.
Four sell AI visibility or an AI channel, which is not AI in delivery. Majux does law-firm AI visibility, and its "own AI agents" are unnamed; its homepage says clients sign 10%-35% of new cases through AI platforms, with no client, method or source behind the range. Scribewise monitors LLM citations, Make Your Mark has an AI visibility dashboard and GEO cases, and ADSQUIRE sells ChatGPT ads to lawyers, a channel.
Others describe no AI in client delivery. MDM publishes HubSpot automation cases, which are workflow automation, not AI. Lucid has 46 local staff and lists AI capabilities without a tool, build or number. Farotech has AI-assisted writing only. Motus automates lead alerts and reminders. Momentum has a generic AI automation page with no tool or case. Hibu is a national small-business platform where AI is a banner. Media Proper repeats "agentic AI" on each service page without naming a tool, build or result. Everyday Web uses WordPress.com's AI builder with human finishing. Motifmotion is an animated eLearning video studio, not a marketing agency.
Caveni, KizilCo, DBV Marketing, SEO Digital Group and Rhema have no published client work or case studies.
Software, IT, consulting, staffing and other firms that surface in Philadelphia marketing searches are not marketing agencies and are not assessed here.
How to choose between them
For search, paid media and analytics from a team that builds its own AI, take Seer Interactive. If you want an AI tool or product built rather than a campaign run, O3. Consumer brands with an affiliate program have Gen3 Marketing, and law firms have SMB Team. Ecommerce and marketplace sellers should look at Greenlane, and visitor bureaus at Tempest.
Gregory is for PR with AI-answer visibility tracked, and Finch Brands for brand strategy and research. Think It First and Eastern Standard both pair a website rebuild with an AI build, Think It First on your documents and Eastern Standard on your CRM. 215 Marketing runs local lead generation on HubSpot, and Arc Intermedia is the full-service option with a private AI copy tool.
How this list is ranked
How this list is ranked
I score every marketing agency here on four criteria, for a total out of 50: AI automation out of 20, and specialization, published evidence and a real Philadelphia team, each out of 10. Each card links the sources behind its score.
Nitrosend, which I co-founded, publishes this page. It is an email platform for agencies, not a marketing agency, and is not ranked.
FAQ
Seer Interactive, for most brands that want search, paid media and analytics, because it builds its own AI tools and publishes how they work. O3 is second and does a different job: it builds working AI tools and products rather than running campaigns. After that the list splits by need, with Gen3 Marketing for affiliate programs and SMB Team for law firms.
The difference shows in what each one publishes. Seer ties its SCAI model to a 50 percent cut in drafting time. O3 shows its own $127 build that replaced a $35,000-a-year tool. Gen3 shows what an AI shopping assistant did for Red Equipment. Read those three pages and you will know which one describes your problem.
Between $899 and $20,000 a month on retainer, before ad spend. Specialist SEO tiers start at $899 a month, full retainers from Philadelphia firms run $5,000 to $10,000, and fractional B2B marketing programs run $10,000 to $20,000. A custom website is a separate project at $40,000 to $100,000.
Brolik's FAQ puts its fees at $7,000 to $10,000 a month during the strategy phase and $5,000 to $8,000 once the retainer begins, and a custom website at $40,000 to $100,000 over 4 to 8 months. Marketri's smallest client pays $7,500 a month and most pay $10,000 to $20,000. Sagapixel designs GEO programs for budgets from $1,500 to $20,000 or more a month. 1Digital Agency, founded in Philadelphia and now based in Miami, prices AI SEO from $185 an hour with a 3-month minimum and publishes SEO tiers from $899 a month. Of the twelve ranked, Think It First prices change orders at $150 an hour, and 215 Marketing requires at least $1,000 a month in media, paid to the platforms on top of the fee.
To compare with a hire, Saxbys pays a Philadelphia partner marketing manager $70,000 a year plus an annual bonus, Inizio Evoke pays a PR project manager $60,000 to $82,500, and Seer pays a senior paid social lead $105,000 to $125,000, with a $65K minimum salary across the company. A mid-range retainer costs about what one mid-level marketer does, and buys a team.
Look for one of four things: a named tool with a described function, a named workflow, a person with an AI or automation role on the team, or a case study that ties automation to a number. A banner, a self-description or a figure with no client behind it is not evidence of the same weight.
The strongest pages name the tool and the client, as Seer does for SCAI. Majux's homepage range of new cases signed through AI platforms has no client or method behind it, and Gregory's "most AI-enabled PR firm in the U.S." is its own description.
On four criteria, for a total out of 50: AI automation out of 20, and specialization, published evidence and a real Philadelphia team, each out of 10. Every AI point links to its source.
