What telecom emails are
Telecom emails are digital communications sent by telecommunication companies to their customers. These often include account updates, promotional offers, service notifications, and billing information. They typically focus on clear, direct messaging to inform or guide the recipient.
This page is one slice of the Nitrosend email library. It holds 72 real emails from 22 brands, all of them collected out of two ordinary inboxes. Nothing here is a mockup.

What 72 of them actually do
Telecom emails are overwhelmingly functional. Our analysis of 72 emails from 22 distinct brands shows a strong preference for utility over visual flair. Only 6% of emails included a hero image, and just 4% used a product grid. Most communications prioritise direct information delivery.
Design choices reflect this focus. We found 35% of emails were plain text, and another 29% were utilitarian in style. Over half of the emails, 51%, adopted a single-column layout. The content itself is often instructional, a tone used by 31% of the emails we collected. Most emails are also text heavy, accounting for 62% of the corpus.
Brands frequently personalise their messages. A significant 61% of emails addressed the recipient by their first name. Despite this, calls to action are not always singular; the median number of calls to action per email was two, with 31% carrying exactly one.
Subject lines lean towards clarity and directness. Transactional plain styles make up 36% of subject lines, with personalised lines following at 25%. These emails support various customer lifecycle stages, with retention communications making up 35% of the total, followed by fulfilment at 17%. The gap between what AI can do and what email platforms let you do with it is enormous, suggesting a lot of untapped potential in this sector.
None of this helps if the send never lands, which is a email marketing problem rather than a design one.
